Welcome

Welcome to the online home of Elfynn…

Here you can find out everything that you need to know….what we’ve been up to recently, check out our forthcoming show dates, have a listen to our music or get in touch.

We’re keen to hear your thoughts so we have included handy links to all of our social networks and hope you’ll join up which will then allow us to let you know what’s going on first hand….and you can send us nice messages too, which we like…lots!

If you have any pics of us that you would like to share then please send them to us and we will upload to the site! And if you’ve seen us and have thought of a festival or venue we would be suitable for, tell them and please get in touch with us.

And finally….all the latest goings on will appear here as if by magic!

We’re still working on getting everything up on to the site, in between everything else.

We hope to see you somewhere soon…

Elfynn nip to the Bulls Head for a quick one!

We did very sneakily pop in to the the Bulls Head, Moseley last night and had a live practice to help out Ben and the guys on the live sound engineering course. We had a great time and i hope they did too but some of had to dash away to do other stuff and get back home. There were plenty of quality bands and a great time was had by all.

Check out future events at the Bulls Head, Moseley through the magic of interwebbery…

Elfynn at Frome Folk festival.

Tis Done!

But no pickies yet….ahhh boo!

We had a great time at Frome folk festival (if you didn't go then book your tickets for next year cus it's going to be fabulous if this first event is anything to go by!).

We would firstly like to pass on special thanks from Cate who is standing tall at the front of Elfynn (after only 15 odd practices which really only equates to a crash course in Celtic tunage as she comes from an English world of tunes) to all the people who said what a great job she's doing whilst Louisa, new baby Erin and husband Steve laze about doing that holiday that is parenthood!!!

We were really looking forward to the ceilidh on sunday morning but it appears that it was just us that was ready for a dance plus a few others (despite the early morning cobwebs) who couldn't help themselves and just had to throw some shapes on the dance floor to our concert set with a large dose of Chaos pad thrown in cus no one wanted to ceilidh.

Thankyou to Jan Ayers and all of the Frome home massive for looking after us…you were the nicest yet and to Carol at the simply fantastic Monmouth House. A home from Home.

We will see you somewhere soon..

Not long till Frome Folk Festival…it’s for Winter folk you know!

Just to let you all know that we are all still here and getting ready for Frome Folk Festival (18th&19th Feb) which is going to be fantastic. We are playing on Saturday in Hall 2, The Westway Cinema, with Fallen Tide who will kick off at 15:40. Don't forget your dancing shoes!

Interestingly there will be two new things happening over the festival weekend.

The first will be the festival itself and we are really looking forward to that and to spending the weekend there with you lovely people whilst getting to see all the great acts and also because on the Sunday morning, there will be, in the main hall, the first Elfynn Ceilidh for all you hard-core earlybirds. No gentle start for you guys, full on, straight in, omg sunday morning Ceilidh with Cate Bannister calling at 09:30 (TBC) till 11:00. Bring your hangover, a friend and preferably a large dose of go juice! If you need any more info for the festival then you can find what you need at www.fromefolkfestival.co.uk

Hope to see you there.

We have just finished recording at Sounding Post with the most marvellous Mr Ich Mowatt. We worked really hard and are massively pleased with the results and can’t wait for you to be able to hear them too. The tracks will be mixed in the next few weeks and as soon as they are ready we will let you know.

Thanks to everyone that let us go and helped us eat while we were there.

Artsfest 2011…the best gig of the year?

You know when it’s a great gig…you can’t stop whoopin, smilin and having a great time. Add to that great sound from a soundman that could not keep still, jumpin around and having a ball….his face when the chaos pad kicked in was something else. Like he didn’t think it would get better and then it just so did……we had a great gig, really great…..thanks again to all those who came to see us, ran away with cds and bopped away in Chamberlain Square and of course thankyou to Artsfest Birmingham for booking us…..awesome!

The day after Moseley…

We had a great time at Moseley, and i have to say that having personally come from another, larger festival it was a real pleasure for us. A big thankyou to all who looked after us. We look forward to our return, whenever that may be.

Our next adventure is at Artsfest 2011, in Birmingham, on the Chamberlain Square stage at 13:30, (Sunday 11th). We are really looking forward to it and have a great set lined up. If your there, come and say hi.
